Tips for Spontaneous and Planned Giving
Spontaneous or Planned, your kindly, thoughtful, generous, and essential
donations keep us rolling. Occasional, monthly or yearly check and cash
contributions are vital. Planned giving, of even $1 per month, allows
our work to continue. When you contribute, you touch a family that might
otherwise have been left without help or hope, so please keep the following
tips in mind:
Grants. Most mothers need the
cash option. It carries the most leverage with the bills which must
be paid. This is the best gift. Gift certificates usable anywhere in
the USA, preferably with no expiration date, and from nationwide stores
are helpful when they can be exchanged for cash or used to buy food, clothing, or other necessities for moms and their children wherever
the family resides.
Raffles. Winners like
to have the cash option!!
To donate cash prizes or items of value for our Raffles, contact
us. Let us know if you have gift certificates, items or cash
for prizes. Your contributions are appreciated and make the Raffles
fun. Thank you for your support and to Dancing Dog Mining Company
for its Baby Medallions and cash awards.
For further information, please see Raffles.
Volunteers. To help
with fundraising for moms and their children, share TCP
with others. To distribute TCP's fundraising flyers and raffles
in your area, please download the appropriate forms and information
from this website. You can also contact
us indicating the number of raffles and flyers needed, and
forward an SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope) with name,
address, and appropriate postage to TCP’s address. Interested
sponsors and private donors may thank you, and we thank you too!!
Volunteers can deduct expenses incurred in conjunction with their
work, including mileage and phone expenses. And, we can provide
you with a letter indicating your service, if this is advisable
by your accountant.
For many other ways to help, read on! Also, see The
Custody Project Wish List.
Grants. Many companies allow employees who
volunteer with nonprofits to write small grants on behalf of
these organizations. Ask your company about its opportunities
to help increase your giving power to The Custody Project
Website. Please contact
us to assist with maintaining our website. Thanks!
Brochure. Our Brochure covers 2001-2002. To
update and improve it yearly, a volunteer who can assist, preferably
in InDesign, is needed. Can you help? Please contact
us to assist with developing, updating, and maintaining
our brochure.
Creativity. Use your imagination,
generosity, and creativity, and contact
us with your ideas. Let us know how you would like to help.
Remember: The Custody Project is a nonprofit organization and your donations
are tax deductible. TCP has been able to assist moms and their children
each year through your grass-roots support. Every dollar makes our
service possible. Use us for tax write-offs, put coins in a giving
jar and send the sum, donate the proceeds of bake sales and yard
sales to us, share our flyers, send your prayers. Thank you.
