advocacy

In 1998-99, RIDE continued in its role as a leading advocate on behalf of children and women trapped in the culture of child labour. RIDE also initiated efforts to raise awareness about and promote religious tolerance and harmony in the communities it serves. Moreover, RIDE led a successful petition drive protesting atomic weapons testing by the Indian and Pakistani governments.

"There certainly has been a change in my life since I got involved with RIDE. Mostly, I've learned to understand the problems of others. Because of what we learned from RIDE, my whole family has taken a pledge to help others with their problems. We will never forget RIDE" Mrs. Kumari Chandran, participant Family Link Programme
