About Us
Homeful!
is a project of CharityFocus.org.
Since its inception in 1999, CharityFocus has
been for the volunteers, of the volunteers and by the volunteers.
Growing from just a handful of volunteers to over 1800 in
just a short span of time, CF has managed to hold the volunteer
experience at the heart of its activities. The idea is to
do small things with great love, realizing that one person
can make a difference, and using cutting edge technology to
provide meaningful ways to give. In short, CharityFocus is
a bridge between the Internet and the Inner-net. [ more

Many years back, CharityFocus started 'Help
the Homeless' events, delivering both food and winter
clothing to the homeless on the streets of San Francisco.
Beyond these material offerings, the intention was always
to reach out and be present with those we encountered. One
thing became perfectly clear - through giving, we were actually
the receivers, allowing our own compassion and connections
to blossom. It was the persistent call by many
to do more that inspired an even greater focus on homelessness.
The
final push came when Sherlyn Lim, a college student from the
east coast, wrote to us and suggested conducting and publishing
personal stories from the homeless as a way to help bring
connections into the
homeless communities and into the hearts of those willing
to reach out. Her suggestion fit perfectly with the many inspired
writers we knew who were already passionate about helping
the homeless.
Homeful!
is still at its very early stages of development, but as volunteer
interest increases to grow, Homeful! will grow along with
it, helping to facilitate the important work of bringing HOME
to the Homeless.
